TWO REASONS WHY YOU CAN TRUST THE BIBLE

In the ancient world, just like today, the two basic types of evidence required in the court of law to substantiate a claim were/are (1) Eyewitness Testimony, and (2) Authoritative documents. Below is how the Bible presents both and why you can rely on it.
(1) Reliable eyewitness accounts: Paul said 500 people saw the resurrected Christ at one moment together, most of whom were still alive at the time of his writing - 1 Corinthians 15:1-5. Both Peter and John saw Jesus transfigured (2 Peter 1:16-18; 1 John 1:1-4).
Peter remarks, "For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty (2 Peter 1:16). John on the other hand recounts, "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life. The life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you eternal life... (1 John 1:1-2).
Paganism was and is built on the power of mythology.
Read about Hercules the son of Zeus or Diana also known as Artemis twin sister of Apollos and daughter of Zeus. All of these Greek mythological gods and their accounts do not have historically and archaeologically known and proven facts. One could talk about the Scandinavian (Norse) Mythology with Odin the ruler of the gods and protector of the nine realms, Thor with his thunderous Mjölnir, Loki the god of mischief, or Heimdallr keeper of bifröst the rainbow bridge. All of these mythological characters do not exist beyond comic books.
Marvel Cinematic Universe's presentation of these Norse gods shows Odin the ruler of the gods dying, Thor the god of thunder getting tazed, Loki the god of mischief was tricked, and Hella the goddess of death died.
"We should put our trust in the God who is not only more than able to protect himself but also protect and redeem us from our sins."
Jesus on the other hand willingly laid down his own life and on the third day rose again. His crucifixion was not because he was defeated in a battle, but was because He, out of love chose to die for our sins. He proved his power when He rose from the dead (Matthew 26:47-56)
(2). The Authoritative, and historically proven written account (2 Peter 1:19-21). Peter said, “And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed to which you will do well to pay attention…”
John said, “Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not recorded in this book (Gospel of John), but these (that are recorded) are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name (John 20:30-31).
Luke writes that he followed all things closely, researched things carefully, and relied on eyewitnesses so that Theophilus could have “certainty” about the Gospel story (Luke 1:1-4).
Christianity is tied to history from its very beginning. The most important claims of Christianity are historical claims. The Bible has above and beyond met all requirements for validation. It has proven beyond reasonable doubt that it can be trusted.
If you would rely upon the testimonies of eyewitnesses and or the written verifiable proof of an account of something, why not trust the Bible since it has proven in every aspect it is authentic?
